Are you looking to replace a cracked cylinder head on your 1600 or 1641cc engine?

These brand-new, complete VW cylinder heads fit 1500 & 1600cc Type 1 based VW engines and are machined for 85.5 (1600cc) or 87mm (1641cc) pistons and cylinders. The head comes complete with the with 35mm intake vales, 32mm exhaust valves and 8mm bronze valve guides set and pre-installed.

These are dual port heads and will only work with dual port intake manifolds. If you are replacing single port heads, and planning on using a stock carburetor (30PICT-1 or 34PICT-3), you will need to purchase a dual port intake manifold. If you have a fuel injected vehicle, the cylinder head has a drilled and tapped fuel injection head temp sensor hole so they will work on fuel injected cars as well.

The VW dual port head was originally used on 1971 through 1974 VW Beetles & Karmann Ghias, 1971 Type 2 Bus Models and 1973 to 1974 Things. This head will fit any VW Type 1 based engines that uses 85.5mm or 87mm Pistons & Cylinders and dual port carbureted intake manifolds. The cylinder opening in the head is roughly 94.5mm.

• Please Note: The volume of the combustion chamber can vary as we source these heads from multiple manufacturers depending on availability. Typically, the heads will vary anywhere from 50 to 65cc, which is why it is good practice to always verify the heads and deck height when building an engine to reach the desired compression ratio.
