The 043255106F, passenger side heater box bolts to the exhaust ports on the back of the right cylinder head at the #1 cylinder and connects to the right side of the muffler or header.

Not all Jopex/Dansk Heater Boxes Are the Same

We only offer the premium Jopex heater boxes. Jopex also offers a lightweight version, but as you can see in the image below that there is not much material inside the heater box. The president of JP Group said, "You might as well not have heater boxes and instead use J-tubes." This heater box is the top one in the image below and you can see the amount of material used to properly generate warm air.

How does the Heater Box Work?

The heater box is a J-tube, inside a metal housing, with a ceramic core that uses the heat from the exhaust to heat the air that blows into the vehicle. As the exhaust gasses leave the engine through "J-tube" portion of the heater box and out through the muffler, they heat up the large ceramic block that you can see in the cutaway image above. Then, fresh air from the fan shroud blows through the heater ducts in the fan shroud into the heater boxes as the air flows from the engine into the vehicle. As the air from the fan shroud is blown through the heater box and past the ceramic core, it warms up, and blows that warm air into the vehicle.
