VW Decklid - Louvered - 1968-77 Beetle - 1971-79 Super Beetle

This VW Rear Engine Deck Lid, With Louvers is a quality reproduction VW Decklid. It is compatible with the 1968-1977 VW Beetle Sedan, Sunroof and Convertible, as well as the 1971-1979 Super Beetle Sedan and Convertible. Includes hinges, but no additional hardware or mounts and comes in a black rust-resistant coating. 1972 and later VW Beetle models may require the use of a 1966-1971, 3 screw deck lid handle. Made in Brazil.

Note, the decklid has numerous holes that aren't original to German model VWs, such as the decklid emblem and others. Make sure to test fit the decklid, handle, license light assembly, license plate etc. before painting. That way any extra holes can be welded up and additional hoses can be drilled. This decklid has the 3-Hole handle configuration that was original to 1968-71 Beetles. If you are going to use this decklid on a 72-79 Beetle you must use PN:#111-517A & PN:#113827503F.

1. Test fit the decklid before painting!
2. Body work will be necessary before painting!
3. Once body work or paint work has been done to any sheet metal item, it can't be returned!

Aftermarket sheet metal is shipped often times with dozens of other parts and as well as it is packed, it will have small dents or dings that will require body work or at least filler primer and block sanding before paint can be applied. This is simply the nature of body parts. These are a great alternative for a missing part or a rusted or damaged beyond repair original part, they are NOT OE, German sheet metal body parts.

Previous accidents and body work can cause poor fitment of new sheet metal items. It is very important to test fit the decklid before painting it. This will allow any necessary body work to either the body or the decklid to be done BEFORE it is painted. If after test fitting you feel the decklid will not fit, DO NOT MODIFY IT. Once body work or paint work has been started, the decklid can not be returned!
