The VW 12 Volt Flasher Relay operates the left and right turn signals and emergency /hazard flashers, and is hooked up to the hazard switch,
the input to the turn signal switch and the speedometer indicator bulb . The flasher relay fits 1971-1977 Beetles, 1971-1979 Super Beetles,
1971-1974 Karmann Ghias, 1971-1979 Buses, 1971-1974 Type 3s, 1973-1974 Things, 1980 through 1991 Vanagons and 1986 through 1991 Syncros.
1968 to 1970 models may need a piggyback or jumper terminal as the 3 prong relay does not have the "K" or "KBL" 4 terminal. Use a jumper terminal on the 49A terminal for the indicator wire instead of the K terminal.
