This 12 volt flasher relay operates your vehicle’s turn signals and hazard lights, with connections to the hazard switch, turn signal switch, and speedometer indicator bulb. It is a direct replacement for models equipped with a 3-prong flasher and is essential for reliable signaling operation.

Note: 1968 to 1970 models may require a piggyback or jumper terminal, as this 3-prong relay does not include a "K" or "KBL" terminal. Use a jumper on the 49A terminal to connect the indicator wire.

Replacing the Turn Signal Relay is very simple. The terminals are labeled, their designations are:

49 - Power from the Fuse Box
49a - Power to the Turn Signal Switch
31 - Chassis Ground

VW Factory Color Coding:
49 - Black
49a - Black w/White and Green Stripe
31 - Brown
