VW Doghouse Oil Cooler Adapter

Allows you to install the improved doghouse style oil cooler on any 40HP/1200cc to 1600cc based Type 1 engine
For 1971 and later engines, four late model oil cooler seals (P/N 021117151A) are required

The doghouse style oil cooler and adapter was only offered standard in late model Type 1s. The doghouse adapter allows you to install the improved design doghouse style oil cooler (P/N 113117021) on any 40HP/1200cc to 1600cc based Type 1 VW engine. Customers who want to install a doghouse oil cooler on their 40HP/1200cc and up engine can use this adapter along with the doghouse oil cooler, a doghouse fan shroud, doghouse fan shroud ducting tin, and the doghouse front engine tin. Two stepped oil cooler seals (P/N 111117151B) go between the oil cooler adapter and the case and two late model seals go between the adapter and the cooler itself. Bolting the adapter to the early case requires a stepped 6 to 8mm stud to replace the original mounting stud and the two ears on the case must be drilled out to accept the 8mm studs on the adapter.
