Shipping & Returns

The factory replacement muffler fits 1972 and 1973 VW Beetles and Karmann Ghia California models as well as 1974 Beetle and Karmann Ghia non California models. The muffler has single pre-heat tubes per side and has an EGR port on the left side. The muffler is made in Europe and comes painted with a grey primer that will burn off in time. We offer the stock replacement muffler individually or with the needed gaskets, tail pipes and clamps to finish the installation.

To install this muffler you will need:

Grey Primer is only a rust inhibitor!

If the grey primer is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. We recommend stripping the muffler with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting the muffler with a high quality, High-Temperature Exhaust Paint. None of our exhaust systems are warrantied against rust.

Tailpipe installation is easy!

We recommend using new tail pipe clamp kits whenever replacing or adding tailpipes to a new muffler. Tailpipes and installation clamps are each sold separately.
