This VW Fuel Gauge with sender cable is mechanical type and made to fit the 1962-1967 Beetle dash without any modification. The face of the fuel gauge shows an image of a gas pump. To ensure an accurate reading, avoid kinks and sharp bends. Gauge can be calibrated by turning adjustment screw on back of the housing.

Note: The replacement fuel gauge has a plastic housing which will not provide a ground for the gauge light. A two pronged bulb holder will be needed, and can be added at the drop down menu above. An additional wire must be run from the second electrical terminal to the body to ground out the gauge light bulb.

Please Note: This fuel gauge, the sending unit (113919049C), and the seal (111-135) will work on 1961 Beetle fuel tanks, but it was not standard equipment from VW until the following model year. 1962 is the first year a fuel gauge was standard equipment in the Beetle from the factory. If you have a 1961 Beetle, you must confirm a dash panel with the cut out for the gauge.
