Product Description
The factory replacement original style 1973 Thing muffler is a dual muffler system. 1973 Things did not have heater
boxes so there is a separate muffler for the left and right side heads. The muffler system comes with both left and
right mufflers, the left and right manifold pipes with the heat riser connections and two tail pipes. The Thing tail
pipes exit through the cut outs in the stock rear bumper. The exhaust system is made in Europe and comes painted with
a grey primer that will burn off in time. The exhaust system requires 6 exhaust port gaskets, 2 heat riser gaskets, 2
tail pipe clamps and 4 nuts and bolts to bolt the manifold pipes to the mufflers which are sold separately. These parts
are linked below or can be added by selecting add hardware above.
To install this muffler you will need:
(1) Muffler install kit
(4) Exhaust port gaskets
(4) 8x25mm nuts, bolts and lock washers
All of these items are sold separately.
Exhaust components (like most things nowadays) are made around the world, by various manufacturers. A German exhaust component comes from a German manufacturing company that may have numerous factories around the globe. Regardless of where the part is made, if it is labeled as a German part, it comes from a German company that has manufactured that component at a facility that is owned by them, and it is made to their high standards of quality and fitment.
