23.81mm(15/16")Internal Diameter (Bore Size) Wheel Cylinder
VW Front Right Wheel Cylinders are bolted to the backing plate inside the front brake drum and connect to the master cylinder with hydraulic hoses and brake lines. 1955 through 1963 Type 2 Bus models use 2 wheel cylinders per side, inside the drum. The upper and lower wheel cylinders connect with a steel line. The wheel cylinders use hydraulic pressure to push the brake shoes into the brake drums through pistons inside the cylinders to stop the brake drum from spinning. The wheel cylinders also house the brake adjusting nut (sold separately) for the brake shoes. The wheel cylinders are made in Germany, sold individually, 2 are needed per VW, and only fit the right side.
