EMPI's 2.5 inch Drop Spindle Blank Front Disc Brake Kit fits Ball Joint Front End Standard Beetles and Karmann Ghias from 1966 through 1977. The blank disc brake rotors can be drilled to the wheel bolt pattern of your choice. This disc brake kit will give your classic VW the stopping power of modern brake technology. The disc brake kit includes new 2.5" drop spindles, front rotors, calipers & pads, bearings & seals, mounting hardware and instructions. 1966 through May 1968 Beetles and Ghias will need late model outer tie rod ends to use this drop spindle disc brake conversion kit. Low profile (shorter) tires must be used when installing drop spindles. We offer 145SR15, 135SR15 and 165/45R15 tires that will fit with drop spindles. Your local tire shop can offer many other options that will work as well.
1966 through May of 1968 models will need to swap to 1968.5 through 1977 Outer Tie Rod Ends.

Mounting Hardware & Instructions(The brake pads used are softer than other types, making them quieter for the driving experience. All brake parts must be thoroughly cleaned and disc brake grease must be used on all piston to pad contact surfaces or brake squeak and vibration may occur.)
Please Note: This product is compatible with 15 inch wheels. It will NOT fit 14 inch wheels.
Drop Spindles are not compatible with Super Beetles!
Please allow 2-3 days for processing on all disc brake kits. A Dual Circuit, Large Bore Master Cylinder should be used if converting to 4 wheel disc brakes.
