Rear Axle Bearing for Swing Axle VW Models

Installs at the outer end of swing axle housings
Correct fit for multiple VW rear axle and reduction box applications

The rear outer wheel bearing is more accurately described as the rear axle bearing. On 1954–1968 Beetles, 1956–1968 Karmann Ghias, and 1962–1968 Type 3 models, it fits at the outer end of the swing axle housing. For swing axle Bus models with reduction boxes, it mounts at the inner end of the upper and lower axle shafts. In 1955–1963 Type 2 models, this bearing also serves as the outer bearing of the output axle. 1955-1963 Type 2s use six bearings in total (three per side), while 1964–1967 models use four (two per side).
