VW Exhaust System - 1 5/8" Sideflow - Stainless Steel - 1966-73 Beetle - Karmann Ghia

A stainless steel, high performance VW exhaust that doesn't hang down and drag on driveways and speed bumps

• 1-5/8" stainless steel merged header
• Hideaway stainless steel muffler sits to the right of the right-side valve cover
• Fits 1966-1973 Standard Beetle
• Fits 1971-1973 Super Beetle
• Will fit all other 1300-1600cc based Beetle, Super Beetle, and Karmann Ghia with carbureted enginges
• Fits stock width engines only - 19 3/4" from left to right top exhaust studs
• Will NOT stroker engines that are wider than stock dimensions.
• This exhaust will not fit engines with full flow filter oil pumps 9206 or 9207.
• This is a "Competition Style" exhaust system and cannot be used with heater boxes.

EMPI's VW sideways merge design of the stainless steel sideflow exhaust system tucks the exhaust pipes up behind the apron for great ground clearance and a hidden, performance exhaust. The header pipes are made from 1 5/8" stainless steel tubing and the muffler sits next to the right valve cover keeping it out of sight. The side flow exhaust fits 1966 through 1973 standard Beetles and 1971 through 1973 Super Beetles. In addition, it will also any year Beetle, Super Beetle or Karmann Ghia with a carbureted, 1300cc-1600cc based engines.

No Heat Risers

The sideflow exhaust system does not have heat riser provisions. So, we do recommended using this exhaust with dual carbureted engines.

V-Band Clamp Connections

The muffler connects to the header with a Stainless Steel V-Band Clamp so there are no bolts to loose or gaskets to replace whenever you remove the muffler.

Does Not Work with Heater Boxes

This is a competition style exhaust that does not have connections to work with stock heater boxes or J-tubes. The 1-5/8" header connects at both the front and rear of the engine.
