This EMPI Classic Light Wood Steering wheel features a 23 millimeter (standard) grip. The wheel is 380 millimeters in diameter with a 3 inch dish
and classic 3-bolt hub pattern. It fits the Beetle and Karmann Ghia from 1960-1974.5 and 1961-1971 Type 3. This Kit includes a polished billet
aluminum boss with horn button and EMPI logo. EMPI's classic wood steering wheels with polished chrome spokes feature real wood grain finish with
finger grips on the under-side. These steering wheels will give your air-cooled Volkswagen a classic look.
For 1974 models, it is imperative that you check the diameter of the splines of your steering shaft. VW changed the diameter and spline size midway through the model year.
If your splines are 13/16" in diameter, you can use steering wheels or adapters that fit 1961-1974.5 models.
If your splines are 11/16" in diameter, you must use steering wheels or adapters that fit 1974.5-1979 models.
