EMPI Stock Height Front Shock for Ball Joint Type 1

• 12mm lower eyelet sleeve fits 11.9mm trailing arm mounts

EMPI's stock height oil-filled shock is designed for Type 1 models with ball joint front ends. It measures 14.5 inches when fully compressed and extends to 18 inches at full travel. The lower eyelet features a 12mm inner diameter sleeve, compatible with trailing arms that measure approximately 11.9mm. These shocks are sold individually.

Stock height shocks are also suitable for vehicles equipped with drop spindles. However, they are not recommended for front ends lowered more than 2 to 3 inches, as performance may suffer. If the shock will not slide onto the mount, the old shock sleeve may be rusted in place and must be removed. Removal may require vice grips, heat, a chisel, or in some cases, a cut-off wheel.

• Lowered more than 3 inches with adjustable beam – use lowered shock

Rear

• Stock length rear shocks generally work for most lowered rear setups
