Please Note:The information listed below is for stock, unmodified VW's manufactured for sale in the US. VW's are commonly modified and very often parts from another year VW may have been installed on your car. California Pacific JBugs is not responsible for any errors if your car has been modified in any way.
The wide body of the radio requires that it be installed from behind the dashboard. The easiest way to do this is to remove the glove box. To start remove the glovebox door (2 bolts on either side,
near the hinges). Undo the screws on the brim of the glovebox opening (or drill out the rivets at the top on later models, the rivets can be replaced with sheet metal screws or rivets later). After
the screws/rivets are removed, pull the glovebox in to the passenger compartment of the car. Disconnect the cable for hood lock from the lever and the glovebox can be pulled out completely and set
aside, and the radio can be slid in behind the dash.
