The Bremi BR9066 VW ignition rotor pushes on to the distributor shaft inside the cap. The rotor spins around inside the cap where it contacts the center post which gets power from the coil and sends power to the individual spark plug posts on the cap. The ignition rotor fits original distributors in 1969 through 1977 Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1969 through 1974 Karmann Ghias, 1969 through 1979 Type 2 Bus models and 1973 through 1974 Things. The rotor also fits the common centrifugal advance 0231 178 009 (double O nine) distributor.

Please note: The fitments listed are for what VW originally equipped the model listed with. It is very possible that after 40 years, the distributor may have been changed so we recommend verifying your distributor before ordering any distributor parts.
