The 30/31 PICT carburetor is one of the most popular aftermarket carburetors and ready for use on single or dual port VW engines. They are factory bench tested and ready to run right out of the box. The carburetor comes with a 12 volt electric choke and idle cut-off valve pre-installed. We offer a huge selection of high quality air cleaners that fit these carburetors. If you are looking to replace your original 28PCI or 28PICT carburetor, keep in mind they are no longer manufactured. You can can either rebuild your carb with our VW carburetor repair kit (which can be found by searching 111198567A or 113198575URK) or upgrade to a new 30/31PICT carb, it can be installed on the original manifold (after removing the adapter). The 30/31 PICT carburetor can also be installed on a dual port intake manifold with the pre-installed carburetor adapter. Of course the adapter must aslo be removed for use on single port intakes when replacing an original 30PICT or 30/31PICT carb. The 30/31 PICT carb comes with a .50 idle jet, a .65 auxiliary jet and a 1.20 main jet. The auxiliary jet works on the transistion between idle and wide open throttle, helping smooth out acceleration. The 30/31PICT Carburetor is actually a 31PICT carburetor but since it was made as a replacement for the original 30PICT series of carburetors, it was named 30/31PICT.
We strongly recommend you check out the tech tips tab above for more information on troubleshooting your old carburetor before purchasing a new one.
NOTE: WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY RETURNS ON INSTALLED CARBURETORS. PLEASE ATTEMPT TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS ENUMERATED IN THE TECH TIPS SECTION AND REVIEW OUR RETURNS POLICY BEFORE PURCHASING.
Spend a little time! Save a lot of money!
Our Carburetors are factory bench tested, adjusted, and ready to install. They are guaranteed to work properly right out of the box, free of all manufacturing defects. If your engine is currently not running well and continues to run poorly after a new carburetor has been installed, the problem is either not the carb, or there may be additional problems hindering performance. We highly recommend you check, diagnose and exhaust every other possibility before purchasing a new carburetor, because they will not be refunded once installed. Addressing the problems below is far less expensive than the cost of a new carburetor!
Check for intake leaks at the carburetor base gasket, at the intake manifold boots and end castings (for dual port manifolds), at the
cylinder head, and that the manifold itself is not cracked or pin-holed.
Make sure that the ignition timing is correct and your spark plugs, plugs wires, points, condenser, cap and rotor are in good condition.
Make sure that the valves are adjusted properly.Orders under $100 cost a flat-rate, $11.95*
