The VW 2 Bolt Exhaust Manifold Gasket is used at each cylinder head to the intermediate header pipe and from the each header pipe to the exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold gasket fits 1983 (watercooled) through 1991 Vanagons and 1986 through 1991 Syncros. 6 Gaskets are needed for the exhaust system, the gasket is sold individually. The Vanagon exhaust gaskets are one of the highest quality gaskets you can get, consisting of both a metal and a fibrous layer.

Vanagon heads are similar to aircooled VW heads, even using the same valve cover, bale and gasket. The Vanagon exhaust gasket is interchangeable with the aircooled head as well. A lot of aircooled owners use these metal reinforced ones instead of the stock gaskets. They are much less likely to leak or blow out than the stock Type 1 exhaust gaskets. Some even re-use them over and over again as they keep working without leaks.
