The VW Valve Adjustment Screw is used to set the valve lash by loosening or tightening it against the valve stem. The valve adjustment screw has a 8x1.0mm thread and is hardened for long life and durability. The valve adjustment screw is sold individually, 8 are needed per engine. The adjustment screw fits 1954 through 1977 Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1956 through 1974 Karmann Ghias, 1955 through 1973 Type 2 Bus models, 1962 through 1973 Type 3s and 1973 through 1974 Things.

They go through hundreds and thousands of heat cycles over their life, the valve adjustment nuts and screws also get abuse from both sides by the push rod and the valve itself.
