The factory replacement 1200cc 40 horse muffler fits 1963 to 1965 VW Beetles and Karmann Ghias with the factory "Fresh Air" heater boxes. The muffler is made in Europe and comes painted with a grey primer that will burn off in time. We offer the 40 horse fresh air muffler individually or with the needed gaskets, tail pipes and clamps to finish the installation.

To install this muffler you will need:

Grey Primer is only a rust inhibitor!

If the grey primer is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. We recommend stripping the muffler with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting the muffler with a high quality, High-Temperature Exhaust Paint. None of our exhaust systems are warrantied against rust.

Tailpipe installation is easy!

We recommend using new tail pipe clamp kits whenever replacing or adding tailpipes to a new muffler. Tailpipes and installation clamps are each sold separately.
