Engle 140 Cam for Classic Aircooled VW Engines

Engle Performance VW Camshafts are made from iron billets and CNC-machined to ensure correct tolerances.

Designed for 1.1 or 1.25 rockers

.460" Valve Lift (1.1 Rockers)
313 degrees of advertised duration
274 degrees of duration at .050"
108 lobe centers

This is an Old School Grind, since most guys NOWADAYS that want this much power use ratio rockers to get it. But if you are on a super tight budget and want a more radical engine, or have a light car that doesn't need a lot of valve lift, this cam will work well.

You must have dual 2bbls of carburetion, great head porting, and more displacement. This cam requires 1 1/2" exhaust MINIMUM

Expect a powerband of 4000-7500 RPMs, the more headwork and carburetion the better the low end will be.

You must use dual springs with this cam, and bolt on rocker shafts. Use a compression ratio of 11:1 or so.

If you choose to use this cam with 1.25 rockers, your valvetrain better be PERFECT or you will have problems.

Please Note: EMPI (along with many other engine builders, racers and auto enthusiasts) recommends using an engine oil with ZDDP or ZDTP or a ZDDP/ZDTP additive in your oil for all flat tappet camshaft engines.
