EMPI VW Tie Rod Set - 2" Narrowed Beam - 1954-1968.5 Beetle and Ghia

Required when installing a 2" narrowed beam
Pre-shortened with shorter tie rod sleeves and all 4 tie rod ends

If you have installed a 2" narrowed beam on a 1954-1965 link-pin or 1966-April 1968 ball joint Beetle or Karmann Ghia, shorter tie rods are needed to match the narrower front end. This pre-shortened tie rod set includes shorter tie rod sleeves and all four tie rod ends ready to install. Note that 1954-1959 models without a steering damper will not use the steering damper hole on the inner right tie rod end.

Note: Volkswagen began using larger tie rod ends in May 1968. To identify early versus late 1968 tie rods, measure the nut at the tie rod end. A 17mm nut indicates 1965 to April 1968 style. A 19mm nut indicates the late 1968 style, which requires a different tie rod set.
