This EMPI bolt-in sand seal crank pulley features laser-engraved timing marks, a stylish 5-hole design, and a stainless steel collar at the snout to help prevent seal wear. The longer snout spaces the pulley further from the engine case, so it must be used with a longer crankshaft bolt (sold separately) and the included spacer to prevent contact with the collar. An upper pulley spacer is also included to keep the pulleys aligned.

The aluminum collar must be glued into place using Gasgacinch or a similar sealant. Having the collar wedged by a muffler shop for a snug fit in the case can help ensure a tighter seal. The seal inside the collar has a 2.26" OD and a 1.665" ID.

Important: Sand seals are designed to keep debris out of the engine at the crankshaft. They are not an oil seal. If you have oil leaking from the crankshaft, the cause is excessive crankcase pressure. This may be due to improper venting, worn piston rings, or other internal issues.
