VW J-Tubes - Upright Engines - Black

Swedged to fit stock and aftermarket mufflers and headers
.350" thick TIG welded flanges

J-tubes replace the stock heater boxes on 1300cc to 1600cc based VW upright engines. If your heater boxes are rusted through, missing, you don't need heat, or you are looking to save a few pounds, J-tubes are an inexpensive replacement to complete your exhaust system. Purchase includes 2 gaskets for the exhaust port to header.

Our Premium J-Tubes are swedged to fit stock and aftermarket mufflers and headers and have .350" thick flanges which are TIG welded. The J-Tubes feature a black painted finish that will burn off very quickly. If you want a more durable finish, we recommend stripping the paint and re-painting with a high-temp paint, or having the J-Tubes ceramic coated.

Two replacement exhaust clamps (P/N 111298051) are recommend whenever replacing the J-Tubes.

Black Paint is only a rust inhibitor!

If the black paint is not removed before installation, it will burn off in a few hours. Regardless of where you purchase your exhaust, when buying an exhaust system we recommend stripping the exhaust with a good solvent or sanding the paint off and then painting the exhaust system with a high quality, High-Temperature Exhaust Paint. None of our exhausts are warrantied against rust. If you want an exhaust with a durable finish consider a ceramic coated, chrome plated or stainless steel exhaust.
