VW Engine Rebuild Kit - 1500-1600cc

We've put together a kit with all the common, "univeral" components needed to rebuild your stock VW 1500 or 1600cc engine. Our engine rebuild kit includes all new (nothing is rebuilt) components. The kits come with a new set pistons & cylinders, 4 new connecting rods, a cam bearing set, 8 lifters, 8 pushrod tubes, a cam plug, an engine gasket kit with a flywheel seal and an oil screen. Other items will be needed and must be replaced such as main and rod bearings. As those items are dependent on the line bore of your engine case and your crank and whether or not it has been machined, they must be ordered separately. See the links below for more information.

Select from the following AA Pistons & Cylinders:

• 1600cc - 85.5mm Pistons & Cylinders
  
• 1641cc - 87mm Pistons & Cylinders - No machining required
  
• 1679cc - 88mm Pistons & Cylinders - No machining required
  
• 1679cc - 88mm Thick Wall Pistons & Cylinders - No machining at the case, Heads must be machined for 90.5/92mm cylinders
  
• 1776cc - 90.5mm Pistons & Cylinders - Case & Heads must be machined for 90.5/92mm cylinders
  
• 1835cc - 92mm Pistons & Cylinders - Case & Heads must be machined for 90.5/92mm cylinders
  
• 1835cc - 92mm Thick Wall Pistons & Cylinders - Case must be machined for 90.5/92mm cylinders - Heads must be machined for 94mm cylinders
  
• 1835cc - 92mm Thick Wall Pistons & Cylinders - Case & Heads must be machined for 94mm cylinders
  
• 1914cc - 94mm Pistons & Cylinders - Case & Heads must be machined for 94mm cylinders
  
• (Piston Rings, Wrist Pins & Clips are included with each set of pistons & cylinders)

Select from the following Connecting Rods:

• Stock Replacement Rods
• Forged Chromoly I-beam Rods

Main & Rod Bearings are NOT included. (See note at the bottom of the description for more information). You can add a new crankshaft to your engine kit, as well as new cylinder heads if yours are not reusable or you'd like to upgrade or replace your exisiting parts.

• GTV-2 90.5/92mm Heads with 40x35.5mm Valves (use with 88mm Thick Wall, 90.5 or 92mm Cylinders)
  
• GTV-2 90.5/92mm Heads with 42x37.5mm Valves (use with 88mm Thick Wall, 90.5 or 92mm Cylinders)
  
• GTV-2 94mm Heads with 40x35.5mm Valves (use with 92mm Thick Wall or 94mm Cylinders)
  
• GTV-2 94mm Heads with 42x37.5mm Valves (use with 92mm Thick Wall or 94mm Cylinders)
  
• Stock 85.5mm Single Port Heads

Main & Rod Bearings are NOT included!

Because the case line bore, case thrust size & crank journal diameter all are required measurements when determining which main bearings are needed, we do not include main bearings in the kit. Click here to shop for VW main bearings.
