VDO red light diffusers can be used to change the backlighting color of your gauge, or on warning light bulbs as a quick repair when the original cellophane film has worn out. This can be helpful on old speedometers where the red film has deteriorated. Having a bright bulb shinning through a speedometer can get annoying, and this temporary repair is simple. Just slide the bulb and socket out of the speedo, slip a red diffuser on to the bulb and insert the bulb and socket back in place. The VDO red light diffusers fit N177221 & N177222 VW and VDO gauge and warning light bulbs as well as many other 9/32 or 7mm diameter bulbs.
