This head stud kit is designed for use with Type 1, 2, and 3 Volkswagen engines with dual port heads and 8mm case saver inserts. It
fits 1971 to 1977 Standard Beetle, 1971 to 1979 Super Beetle, 1971 to 1974 Karmann Ghia, 1971 Type 2 (Bus), 1968 to 1973 Type 3
(Notchback, Squareback, Fastback), and 1973 to 1974 Thing models. The 48 piece kit contains sixteen 8mm head studs (9 long, 3 medium
and 4 short), sixteen 8mm cylinder head washers, and sixteen 8mm cylinder head nuts.
The 9 long studs are for the 8, lower cylinder threads and the top, rear deep studded #3 (nearest the flywheel). The short studs are for the inner threads at the top and the remaining 3 medium length studs are for the upper outer cylinder threads.

Beginner Tips:
The VW Cylinder Head Studs and nuts hold the cylinder heads to the engine case. The hardware is reusable but if you have lost or misplaced the originals we have the replacements.
