VW Camshaft - Flat Cam - Select Pitch

Comes with a 3 rivet standard drive gear
Fits 1200cc (40hp) to 1600cc Type 1 based engines
Available in -2, -1, 0, +1, or +2 gear pitches
Can be used in later model engines but must be used with a compatible oil pump

The stock VW "flat cam" camshaft comes with a 3 rivet standard drive gear and fits 1200cc (40hp) to 1600cc Type 1 based engines. The flat cam can be used in later model engines but must be used with a compatible oil pump. We offer the flat camshaft with -2, -1, 0, +1, or +2 gear pitches so you can make sure the cam meshes well with the drive gear. More often than not, especially with new drive gears, a 0 pitch cam is used. Select your cam at the drop down menu above. New lifters should be installed whenever installing a new camshaft.

Note: We recommend using an engine oil with ZDDP or ZDTP or a ZDDP/ZDTP additive in your oil for all flat tappet camshaft engines.
