The EMPI 44HPMX Dual Carburetor Kit includes standard aluminum manifolds which, due to their offset, will only
work with 36 horse power “styled”, aftermarket fan shrouds. The 44HPMX carburetors are test run as a pair, set
for left and right sides, and they come with the float levels checked and set. The dual carb kits include
aluminum hexbar linkage, chrome air cleaner assemblies, a coil relocation bracket and all the other hardware
needed to swap from a single carburetor to a dual carburetor set up. The dual carb kit will fit 1500-1600cc
based, Type 1, upright, dual port engines.

What size carburetors do I need?
A general rule is that for engines up to 2000ccs, 40mm carbs are preferred. 44mm carbs are used for 2000cc and large engines. Cams, heads, valve sizes and other factors will determine which carburetor set up works best. At the end of the day though, when in doubt, go larger as venturis and jets can all be changed to make a larger carb suit a smaller engine as needed.
