VW Coil-Over Shocks - Pair

These coil-over shocks fit the rear of all Beetle, Karmann Ghia, and Type 3 models, and can be used as front shocks on 1965 and earlier Type 1s as well as 1967 and earlier Type 2s if the lower bushing is trimmed. The coil-over shocks are adjustable so you can set the suspension to fit your needs, but they are not designed to support a vehicle alone and do not lower your car. They are not recommended for lowered vehicles, since they are too tall when fully compressed to work on low rides. The shocks feature a chrome spring, cap, and adjuster sleeve over a black shock body. Use with standard shock bolts, available under early car shock bolts (P/N 111413401A) and late model car shock bolts (P/N 111413403A).

Important Installation Notes

The eyelets at the upper and lower ends of the shock have a 12mm (just under 1/2") inner diameter sleeve. The mount on the trailing arm should measure about 11.9mm (just over 7/16"). If the hole is too small to fit on the lower mount, the old shock sleeve has rusted in place and must be removed. Sometimes a pair of vice grips is all it takes, sometimes heat, a chisel, or even a cut-off wheel is needed.

When used on the front of link pin front ends, the lower bushing must be trimmed to fit on to the trailing arm mount.
