This is a complete wiring harness for the late 1971 (models with a column mounted wiper switch and a 12 circuit fuse) Beetle Sedans,
1972-1973.5 VW Beetle Sedans, 1974 Beetle Sedans, that have an internally regulated alternator, and 1975-1977 VW Beetle Sedans with an
internally regulated alternator that
do not have fuel injection. This harness is for use with alternator with internal voltage
regulator (AL82). These kits are great for repairing old dried out wiring, or replacing the wires after a new paint job. All kits are
made from original wiring loom schematics and are factory color coded. All kits are factory length and pre-terminated. Each kit includes
detailed instructions which will simplify the task of rewiring your VW. This kit is compatible with 12 and 6 volt systems. Steering column
harness, fusebox, battery cables, and relays are not included. All of our original style replacement wiring harnesses are made in the USA
with OEM AMP terminal ends.
The WK-113-72-73-ALT wiring harness is modified to be used with an internally regulated alternator. If you have a factory
installed, externally regulated alternator, the original wiring harness and plugs must be reused.
Please Note: Wiring Harnesses can only be returned if the
packaging remains sealed. Once a wiring harness has been opened, it cannot be
returned.

Frequently asked: Will this fit my 73 or later Super Beetle? Answer: Technically no. With enough modification, anything can be made to fit anything, however the modification needed to make this harness fit the 73 and later Superbeetles is extensive, and not recommended. To our knowledge, the "complete harness" for these vehicles is not currently in production at this time.
So, what do I do? The only answers to this available currently, are to attempt to either repair the existing harness, build a new one from scratch, or attempt to modify an earlier harness. We do not have instructions or advice as to how this is done. Please be advised that modification to an earlier harness is not recommended as there are no returns on electrical items under any circumstance.
